What type of gas is recommendable for a brand new mini Cooper?

My friend recently bought a mini Cooper and he is not sure if this type of car requires premium gas to perform better or if regular gas is alright. Does anyone know for sure? Thanks for your answers!|||All modern Mini's require premium gas.

The standard Cooper has a high compression engine, which requires it.

The Cooper S uses forced induction (turbo or supercharger) and required it.

Putting regular in a Mini will cause you to use MORE gas, which defeats the purpose. The car's computer will retard the timing (pushing it out of tune) to prevent knocking on regular gas. That will consume MORE gas.

It's not a performance question really.

A tank of premium will only cost about a dollar more in total, at the pump.|||recommended and required is premium gas.

Regular or midgrade gas would void the warranty when the car breaks down.|||Read the owners manual. It will say for sure. It will be under specs %26amp; capacities. |||gas-X|||midgrade

What is the difference between a wet bar and a mini-bar?

I need to know for my honeymoon. There's a hotel room with a wet bar, and in the item description it says mini-bar. Is there a difference?|||a wet bar is a complete bar with sink.. a mini bar is a small fridge with small drinks and snacks..|||Well, generally a wet bar has a sink and running water while a mini-bar does not.|||a wet bar has soda and beer spouts, and the fixin's for the drinks. a mini bar is just as stated mini, just the basics, no fountian, no fixin's[olives, cherries, lemon, etc]|||A wet bar is one with a sink, the mini bar is a lockable cabinet with the booze in it. Take it from experience, avoid the mini bar, it's waaaaaaaaaaaay over priced. Buy your favorite mixings and bring it with you or go to the hotel bar. You'll thank your wallet later.|||Technically a wet bar has a small sink and counter top area, a Mini bar is usually just a dorm fridge with drinks and drink supplies, some will have glasses also, the mini bottles of alcohol can run upwards of 5$ and even up to 10$. (the bottles of water can even be 6$ each) the mini bar bill can easily be more than the room cost, so avoid everythign over there, unless you have confirmation that it is free to use.

best bet, bring your own drinks and maybe a couple glasses if they dont have free ones for you to use.

a side note: Just because they say there is a Wet bar or Mini bar does not mean it is stocked with alcohol, check before check in.

How reliable are Mini Coopers and, do they make any with standard transitions?

I am thinking about buying a Mini Cooper but I don't know much about them. Are they good cars?|||Their reliability is average. Better than American cars and Mercedes. Not nearly as good as Japanese cars. About the same as Korean cars.

They are expensive to maintain since they are made by BMW and Mini is a British brand.

They can come in standard transmission if you want it like that.

About 90% of all cars made come in both automatic and manual transmissions.

Only cars like Ferrari's, Lamborghini's, and Some Porsche's like the GT2 and GT3 and some specialty cars like the Audi RS4 Super Sports Sedan only come in Manual.

And Mercedes only comes in automatic.|||Dude, BMW is german

When taking a Mini Bus Test, Should i use a bus lane if its in operational hours?

I am unsure if a driving test examiner will expect me to use a bus lane (if i come across one) during its operational times during my forthcoming mini bus test (16 seat vehicle) or, if indeed this vehicle type is allowed in there at those times. EDIT: Apologies that I couldn't try to help with your question, without attracting the moron element and their 'little jokes'.

Once again, Redmonk displays the 'chip on his shoulder' about anyone with an education.

In schools, it's useful for as many people as possible, from headteacher to caretaker to have a minibus qualification.

But since a prerequsite for the minibus test is to be able to remove your head from your own backside, to be able to see through the windscreen, this might make life difficult for Redmonk.

Is the Apple company planning on coming out with a mini iTouch anytime soon?

Ive always liked the idea of the touch screen iPod but it is just way too big ... Im wondering if theyre planning on coming out with a mini iTouch anytime soon?

Anybody out there work for Apple that would know?

Anybody have any clue?

Thanks in advance.|||No touch mini anytime soon, I'm afraid ;) however, when the 6G nano comes out next year it is extremely likely to have a touch screen and click wheel.|||not really theyre currently working on a itouch 3g that is rumored to come out september|||No there to busy working on the iphone and i think the tryna lock them all cause someone is hacking in to every iphone in the world! thats possbile but that would be a good suggestion. maybe you could email them and ask they probbley would make it i know alot of people who would buy it.|||There are no rumors of a smaller iPod touch at this time. Apple rumors, right now, point to updating the iPod line with features rather than a physical redesign or a completely new form factor. For example, many rumors suggest that the soon to be released new generation of iPod's should have Cameras as a new feature. At this point, the next new Apple product seems to be a full size, 10-inch Apple Touchscreen Tablet Device. Now, that is not to say that they will never make a smaller version of the iPod Touch, but it will most likely not be anytime soon.|||Apple doesn't release any information to their employees because they don't want the public to know. MY guess is the 3g ipod touch might be smaller and more powerful. But, no no one can know unless they themselves are working on it or apple releases it in a press conference|||Too big??? The size is good as it is....

How does the Mini Auto drive in the snow?

I own a Mini and live in New England. I have no idea how it performs in snowy conditions. Help from those who do.|||I live in Idaho and we have started seeing a lot of the mini's here over the last few years. They are adequate in the snow if you live in town where the roads are plowed or the snow does not get very deep. But you need studded snow tires and will still have to use cables on occasion. I would not use then in deep snow, unplowed back roads or snowy, icy mountain roads.

Good luck|||We live in Indiana and my wife's Mini gets her back and forth to work just fine. She loves it in the snow, 3-4" and on slick roads. She hasn't had the opportunity to drive it in anything deeper but I think it might be challenging.

How long does it take for mini lops to become mature?

I am going to breed bunnies. I'm going to buy them next week! I was wondering, how old would mini lops be when they are fully mature and ready to breed! What are some indications that a mini dv needs to be disposed?

I had some mini dv tapes and i noticed that everytime I record a video, the starting of the tape will have a screeching noise. Can you indicate some signs of when a mini dv should not be reused anymore and to be disposed?|||miniDV tape is an evaporate metal formulation which is not as durable as the old oxide tape used in analog recorders. i would recommend putting a limit of 200 passes on the tape.

count a pass each time it is recorded, and for each subsequent playback viewing. depending on how much need to review a tape, it should be reusable for 50 times or so. now if you have a deck that is chewing tape, then it might be shot after just one pass, so keep the equipment clean. screeching noise is serious business and should be investigated professionally.

i have worked at television studios and been responible for managing tape stocks for wear. i have even re-loaded cassette shells with new tape when needed. Unless you are working in a high usage environment like a television station, there is little likelihood you would wearout a tape.

What kind of microphone should I use with a portable mini-disc player?

I'm a musician and would like to record myself using a portable mini-disc player. How can I make sure the chosen microphone is compatible with the player? Have you got any suggestions as to what would be a good make/model? I'd be happy to spend 拢50 to 拢100 on a second hand one on ebay.

Thanks in advance!|||You are limited by the player itself on what mics you can use because of the tiny mic connectors most small recorders have. If the recorder has a standard 3.5mm mic connector (like a headphone jack) there are not a lot of choices for a mic. It might be best just to get a Sony mic that is designed for the recorder.

If you can spend more on the recorder, you would be better off to get one that has a professional type XLR input with phantom power. That way you can use ANY pro mic with it.

Can a Mini Australian Shepperd and Mini Daschund have puppies?

We have a male Mini Australian Shepperd and we are getting a mini shorthair Daschund. My wife seems to think that they can have puppies but I think that the Daschund would be too small. The Australian Shepperd is about 19 lbs. If it's decided this is not a good idea, how do we get our Aussie to stop peeing on everything, claiming it for his own? Get him fixed?|||they can, they will, and it's a terrible idea. Only idiots and backyard breeders make mutts on purpose (or by "accident"). I'm sure you're not either of those, so yes, both animals should be altered. The best thing to do is have your male done now. It may reduce marking, but it is not a cure.|||I would not recommend this. It is not going to be healthy for either dogs. But i do think the Mini Daschund will be way too small. It will kill her. Im guessing she will be like 5-10lbs. IF THAT. My chi is 9lbs now and 11 months old and she is a standard breed. They will try and it is likley other big dogs from the neighborhood will try and that can cause fights between your male and the other male. And this could kill the female,

Getting him fixed is not going to guarantee that he will not mark. But it is the most healthy thing to do. They can get cancer if not neutered they can get temperamental also. I would highly recon mend getting him fixed, For his own safety and health. Same for the Female.

Spay*and*neuter*is*So*much*Cuter.|||If you want to kill the Doxie, go right ahead. Since there is no "mini" AS in the first place, he should be neutered now before you bring in the other dog. And the Doxie should be spayed by 6 months old.

First of all your mini AS is bred by a backyard breeder - its a runt with a lot of genetic problems and never should be bred to anything. Go read the Australian Shepherd standard to find out what you should have.

Second, never breed mutt dogs - there is enough backyard breeders now - why be part of that problem? A responsible owner will spay/neuter their dogs unless they are top show quality dogs that have been genetically tested and earned champion titles.|||no such thing as a "mini" aussie.. its just a mutt, and may potentially have genetics in its background for larger sizes

it would be dangerous to allow a dog that size to mate with a dachshund

not to mention, if both have the dapple/merle gene.. you're asking for problems.

why would you do that anyways? The result would be more unwanted mutts.

Yes, get him fixed|||Yes, they could have puppies. If the Aussie is that big and the dach is a lot smaller (Which it is) the puppies could be too big for her to have. You would have to have a c-section. In other words, yes, the dachschund would be too small. As for the peeing, probably getting him fixed is your best bet.|||Not a good idea, it could be dangerous for the daschund. However this will not stop them from trying. so it would be safest to get them both spay/neutered as quickly as possible. This may also help with the Aussie marking everything.|||Its not a good idea to bring a bunch of useless mutts into the world period. Same goes for breeding when you don't have a clue. Fix BOTH your dogs and train your male.|||Yes, the Mini Aussie can and *will* mate with the Dachshund, and the breeding *will* most likely kill the Dachshund.

Neuter your male.|||Yes.

Spay the female...and neuter the amle|||You can get him fixed. but somtimes that still will lead them to claim their terrority.

How can I start training a mini pony?

I'm looking to get a mini pony and have been thinking about how I'll do some training. I've been training, riding and caring for horses for about 10 years now and I've had my own horse for about 8 so far. So my parents have agreed to getting a mini pony. I know I've wanted to teach him the join up, lunging, long lining and a few other things. How should I start and go along with training?|||well first of all, they are mini horses. (:

i have miniatures and they are so small sometimes people tend to let them get away with things. so the first thing i teach mine is to stop when i stop, walk when i walk, and turn away from me when i turn into you. (basically my space- your space) then i teach them to lunge on a long line. on the long line i teach them the word "whoa". after a lot of repetition, they will soon slide to a stop. after whoa they learn to back on command, which i also teach on a lunge line. all of these things are they basics they need to know, especially if you are going to drive them in the future.

if you are going to show...

halter- they learn to "stand" (put their hooves square)

i teach them to side pass both directions, pivot on the forehand and hindquarters, and ground tie. this is if you are going to show obstacle ( like a trail class for big horses.) this is taught by the your space, my space thing.

they can jump(: my favorite.

they can drive, which is a lot of ground work. if you ever have any questions on driving, feel free to ask.

hope i helped!|||start with lots of grown work: walk it around in hand and spend lots of time with it making it good with different things like picking its feet up then start lunging and long lining! :)

Why is my mini american eskimo aggressive with a few of my family members?

I have a 7 month old mini american eskimo that is typically very affectionate and loving but with a select few of my family, all males, he gets very aggressive. I have been trying to figure out some kind of similarity between the relatives but the only thing is that they are male. He barks at them uncontrollably, growls and even on occasion tries to bite. I don't want to have to get him any shock collars or anything like that. Is there anything that I can try?|||I found my dog to do a similar thing..and wondered and worried about it until I found out the reason why...the young teenaged males in the family would always play a little more energetically, a little rougher...not hurting my dog, but riling him up. He then would think whenever he saw one of the boys that that was the way he was SUPPOSED to play with them...that interaction is what he was taught and how he then behaved. You could try getting help from the "targets" and do desensitization training to break him of this habit. He could be a little afraid of them also, and be barking a "show" to get them to move away.

A shock collar...or E collar as I prefer to call it ...is not a form of punishment as it seems you think. It is just a tool, that may or may not be the right thing to use on your dog. Some people think they are cruel and painful...not true, when used properly. BUt I do NOT recommend using it as a form of punishment to get him to stop barking or growling. Even devotees of e collar do NOT use it when a dog is aggressing. or overly timid.

How do I know what sprocket to use on my mini bike?

I want to increase my speed on my mini bike but don't really know what sprocket is best anyone got any tips? I am mainly on the road with it and it is a 6.5 hp gas engine.|||roost66 is half right, you need a bigger sprocket, on the FRONT on the engine not the back. The alternative is to put a smaller sprocket on the back on the wheel. Engine sprockets are usually less expensive because they're smaller.

You need to calculate the final drive ratio, this is the number of teeth on the rear sprocket divided by the number of teeth on the front sprocket. Ratio =(back/front) To find out what will happen by adding teeth to the front change the number in your calculation. You don't want to change/lower your final drive ratio by more than about 0.5 with the small engine you have or it won't climb hills vary well. You can do the same calculation by changing the number of teeth on the rear sprocket.

Example

What is the cheepest but best mini projector?

I have been looking at those pico mini projectors and I'd like to buy one so what is the best mini projector under $200? I would also like to be able to play gaming consoles on it.|||Hey Johnson,

I am also in the market for a pico/mini projector as well and I am finding products below $300 just don't have the brightness you need. Im learning Lumens is the key spec you should look out for when it comes to brighness. Projections with a product whose lumens is below 20 is going to be washed out fairly easy by ambient light....that's the trade off..cheaper but not very bright. Optoma PK201 is pretty bright but the brightest ultra portable projectors I personally have found is being sold by a company called AAXA Technologies Inc. (www.aaxatech.com). Still shopping, I would appreciate your feedback too.

Should I use mini chocolate chips or chocolate icing to make an argyle design for the icing on a cake?

I have a chocolate fudge (1 layer pan) cake with whipped cream cheese icing and was wondering if I should just make the argyle pattern out of mini chocolate chips (which might take too long) or chocolate icing on top of the cream cheese? Just something simple but nice looking. Thanks!|||I think you should use chocolate chips... if you have the patience lol

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?鈥?/a>|||If you have a diamond-shaped cookie cutter - or want to make a pattern out of cardboard - you can speed up your laying on of chocolate chips, although getting them all point up will be problematic.

For using chocolate icing instead, you might want to use a pipping bag to get the icing exactly where you want it, then smooth with an icing spatula.|||I think chocolate icing with cream cheese works better. It's faster than doing it with chocolate chips.

How do you make a mini wreath crown?

How do I transfer a home video on a mini DV to a windows media file?

I recorded a soccer game on a Canon Optura XI digital video camera. The camera takes the mini DV tapes. I want to transfer it onto my computer in either a media player file or similar. How do I do that?|||Hopefully your camera and computer have fire wire. USB is slow and quality is not good.First plug fire wire to computer and then to camera. Turn on camera and it should be automatically picked upped by computer.A window will pop up and give you a list of options of programs to use.Media player should be one of them. You can then record on to your computer and edit the video. Later on you can burn it to a DVD if you have a burner in your computer.|||you need a firewire card for your pc if it doesn't have one. You can use your moviemaker software to capture or some other capture program (such as Nero 6). Microsoft has free software on it's website that converts to .wmv. Windows Media Encoder.

How many people does it take to operate a mini yacht?

This is in reference to a story I am writing. Can just one person alone use a mini yacht? Also I am looking for a site to understand boats better and the lingo. If you know a good one please let me know.|||If, a person knows what they doing, then one person can do this, but, docking the boat will not be easy.

I not sure what you consider a mini yacht to be, size wise. But, we have about a 70 foot boat with twin Diesel Engines. I works easiest to dock with one person driving and two people with ropes Bow and Stearn (That three total). Other than docking it easy for one person.|||I agree with the others. One link would be Sail magazine. I live and work aboard a 145 footer with nine crew.

|||It depends on what you plan to do on your yacht, and what kind of yacht you are talking about. (Sail or motor)

If you are talking about sailing yacht, I'm sure you would need at least 2. However, if it is a motor yacht, i can tell you from experience of having a 56 foot motor yacht there is no problem operating it without help if you know what you are doing. I would never take it out alone just because its not worth the operating cost unless you have friends and family to be there with you, but you really don't need a "crew" to help you sail the yacht providing you know everything about it. However, I have only done light harbor cruising, I'm not talking about going all around the Caribbean, that would just be very stupid because if it were you alone in a yacht in the Caribbean, i can't imagine that would be very safe.

Oh yeah, and don't call it a mini yacht in your story lol. You can describe its length to portray its size.|||what is a mini yacht?? really there is no such thing as a mini yacht. A small yacht on the other hand starts out at 39 feet and above. Anything over 33 feet needs at least two people to handle a boat of that size. Whereas the bigger yachts require up to six people to handle the lines when docking.

Is there a difference in maintenance between the standard Mini Cooper and the Supercharged?

I have been wanting a mini cooper (convertible) for awhile, but it may still be awhile before I actually get one. I'm not as much interested in the stat difference between the two, but moreso the required maintenance. I've heard that supercharged cars require more maintenance or cost more for maintenance or something. Is this true? I'm not trying to decide which one to get, I'm just trying to decide if I should care, really. I'm planning to buy used.|||There's no difference in the maintenance. Same oil changes, filter changes and such.

What is the best way to install a Mac Mini into my car?

I want to use the Mac mini for music, radio, navigation, and video.

Thanks!|||well I'm not realty a mac kind of guy, but i did have an old laptop in my car to keep track or things when i delivered pizzas in college.....you can get a power inverter just about anywhere to go from 12 vdc to 120 vac to run your cpu and monitor....make sure you size it properly to the watt load your going to put on it. Another thing to think about is, hard drives dont really like vibration so id think about at least sitting the cpu on some foam or something to cushion it

How can i get my cat to use a mini scratch post that hangs on a door knob?

Hello, i was just kind of curious how i can get my kittens to stop scratching the end of a bed or a chair and start on the mini cat stratch post on my doorknob. Ive tried rubbing their paws on it but that doesnt work. Any suggestions?

Thankyou!|||rub catnip on it... no matter how old the cats are they will definatly use it...|||introduce it to them rub a little catnip on it or food or try playing with it with them|||Definitely the catnip thing... Buy a big bulk tub of it (usually cheaper that way anyways) and rub some of it into it at least once a day...|||you can rub catnip on it and every time he/she is scratching something scold he/she and put it on the cat post and tell he/she good boy/girl|||hey they use as a last resort

put catnip in it if u want make it smell familiar to her|||the ones that hang on the door knob never did work for my cats, however, the free standing ones you buy at walmart for like $10 really do work|||Each cat has preferences about the type of scratching post they prefer, so a vertical one may not be their thing. Try different ones that they might like better: different orientations like flat or vertical pillar, hanging or stationary, textures - rope or cardboard, etc. One other thing to keep in mind is where the scratching post is located; you could experiment with putting in a special hidden kitty corner or a more central place they can reach easily.

Also, discourage the bad behavior when you catch them doing it -such as with a squirt from a water gun or a loud clap. And encourage the scratching of the post with catnip or treats until they get the hang of it. Try putting the scratching post (at least initially) near the wrong object they like to scratch so the right behavoir is easy for them to do instead, and then over the course of a few days move the post to wherever you intend to keep it.|||Those doorknob posts are for the birds!!! Try getting your cat a small cat house. It can have its own spot and scratch at the same time. Make sure it is sturdy. Also make sure any carpeted post you get is a different color than your own carpeting. There are also stand-up scratching posts that have a rope around it instead. When the rope gets frazzled, you can replace the rope. I had 5 cats at one time. 2 preferred the rope post, 2 preferred the cat house, and one liked them both. Try to get their claws into the post, then let them disingage themselfs. When they realize that you will leave them alone, they will return to the post. Rubbing a new post with catnip is a must!!! However, catnip is not effective on cats younger than 4 months, maybe 6.

Will a Mini Fridge cause my electric bill to be considerably higher?

I've got a roommate who wants a mini fridge for his room. Its one of the larger ones, probably a little under 3 cubic feet. About how much will this raise our electric bill?|||it depends on how often you open it.but warm beer or refreshments v,s chilled for $5 a month.it would be worth every cent|||probably about $5 a month|||If its a newer one,not much.Just check with the wattage from this month. If it is the only new appliance you will know next month. They are really cheap to run, everyone has them in dorms...|||It doesn't use as much as a box fan. I know of Older people that use only the mid size dorm fridge. because they let the store store their food and the buy it as they need it. like enough for two days. They also use the weekly ad as a menu as to what is for dinner. Large fridges are a energy waste and even worst are the big freezers. The proof in this is that when it comes time to clean out the fridgeees. Look at how much money goes to the trash. Big fridg, big money, little fridg, little money, real simple.

What split-mini heat pump is easiest to install?

I have a 400 sq ft shop in which I would like to install a split-mini heat pump. The estimates I am getting include about $1500 labor, which seems high because I understand that some can be self-installed in a couple of hours, requiring no meters, or evacuation or charging of the lines. But some do require these things. Which brands are designed for the do-it-yourself installer?|||I have installed two mini-splits from alpinehomeair.com, and they were very easy. Don't pay $1500 for labor!!! All you'll have to do is mount it on the wall, drill a single hole for the pipe bundle, and hook up the pipes. It's definitely capable for a do-it-yourself project. You just hook up the pipes, and they're pre-pressurized with the 410 coolant. You can install a second system with the $1500 you'll save in labor costs! I'm sure that other websites might sell mini-split systems, but I've only dealt with alpine.|||k

How can you tell if you have a mini daschund or just a regular one?

I guess mini daschunds are obviously smaller than a regular daschund. But I saw mini daschunds advertised in the newspaper and I was just wondering what is so different about the mini ones.|||They are the same, except a standard Dachshund is much bigger. Standards are 25-30 lbs. Minis are under 10 lbs. The majority of Dachshunds, though, are called "Tweenies" because they're in between. This includes ones who are little, but not little enough to be Mini. If you want a Dachshund, please consider adopting a pup. There are tons of purebreds who have been rescued. Look on petfinder.com or on Dachshund Rescue of North America's website drna.org. Good luck!!|||Nothing is really different per-say about them. They are smaller and weigh less for sure. I think they might be a tad bit more high energy play full too. I had one for 17 years and she was a pure joy of a little dog. I think they are beautiful little dogs with tons of love for their family and very loyal too. If you are thinking of getting one I can't think of a better breed to get. Also they are so smart. They want to please and easy to house train as far as the smaller breeds. I say go for it. Evita|||To be a 'mini' doxie, it can't be larger than 1/2 the size of a 'regular doxie ... and if the 'breeders' are 'legitimate' they should have 'papers' on the puppies and their parents that you can see ... the 'size' should be on the papers. The ONLY way to get a 'mini' is from two parents who are both 'minis' ... even if you can get a 'smaller than normal' doxie, if one parent is 'regular sized' it WILL NOT be a 'mini.' The only 'real reason' to INSIST on getting a 'real mini' is if you want to 'show' your dog, or take her to 'obedience trials' ... those are frequently by 'breed' but also by 'size' ... other than that, though, if you just want a 'good pet' LET THE PUPPY choose you, not you choose the puppy ... you'll have a 'better puppy who will be 'friendlier' ... to you at first, but also to other people and dogs.|||Here's a link that describes the size difference:

Why are mini cordless drills so hard to find?

I am trying to find a very powerful cordless mini drill, preferably the size of a glue gun. Under $100. Doesn't any one have any links or ideas?|||I don't think they make powerful cordless yet. Maybe a cheap one.|||There is no longer a market for the smaller drills or accessories. Versa Pak by Black N Decker used to make these types of tools. The demand was very low. The selling brands are from 14-18 volt. 12 volt is considered outdated.|||Been using tools, power, hand, whatever you can think of for over 60 years, don't ever remember seeing, much less using or owning a mini drill, the size of a glue gun. I have, however, seen and owned some small screw drivers that size, but none of them could even loosely be considered a drill, as they only turned approx. 450 -- 550 RPM's. If you should find something such as you're describing, I doubt it will be cheap. How many mini chocolate chips make one chocolate chip?

I need to know how many regular size chocolate chips to use in place of 10 Hershey mini chocolate chips. It is melted.|||about 2-3 mini ones make a regular sized one !!!

I think that in place of 10 Hershey mini chocolate chips, you can use about 4 regular ones. 3 may be too little, 6 would be too much!

How do you use a mini horse belly sweat?

I just purchased a mini horse belly sweat and it didn't come with any instructions. I know that it wraps around the stomach and that it used for trimming down their belly. I don't know how long to use it though or how tight to make it. I only want to use it for shows because my minis have slightly big bellies (not potbellies just round). I don't know how soon before the show I should use it. Should I put it on the night before or only a few hours before? Am I going about this all wrong? Oh and by the way, if you are going to post on here telling me that I am cruel and shouldn't use the wrap at all, you're wasting your time.|||I have really only used neck sweats, and I usually used them in the winter 24/7 or at least every night to keep the fat from building up in the Arch.

I used to make them so I could easily slip a finger or so under it.

Its hard to say I mean use judgment, if its to tight and you cant fit anything under it its too tight, to loose would be if it keeps turning or slipping.

As for when I am not so sure for a belly sweat.

I mean my guess, use it a few days before the show to slim your pony down.

You could probably google it and find someone who is sure about that part.

I would also go with a little less hay, that may help their round "hay bellys"

But Good luck and I hope it works out for you!|||is this amy, kara's aunt? sorry i don't have a answer!

How much money would it cost to get a mini to 260hp?

I know a 2002 mini has about 115hp, how much money would it take to get it to 260hp+?|||A mini-wheezer motor isn't capable of 260+ horsepower if you pushed it out of a flying box car at 40,000 feet. The best professional racing engine shop may squeeze 30 horsepower if you spend more money than the car is worth.

You'll need a stroked crankshaft a bore job through the water jackets with new steel sleeves pressed in, forged pistons, stiffer connecting rods. expensive high compression cylinder head work, port matching, intake and exhaust port reconfiguriation, new induction system, free flowing exhaust system and a camshaft that will ruin your fuel economy.|||Actaully, no, it does NOT have 115 horsepower.

The engine does. Minus transmission, intake, exhaust, and all other forms of restriction.

Actual wheel output? Closer to 90.

So, you're asking to triple the horsepower output of your vehicle.

Cost? Around $10,000-$15,000.|||a turbo will give you 75 to 100 horsepower more for 4 to 6 K american dollars...you can get 75 more with nitrous oxide about 400/500 but it aint gona last long unless newly rebuilt for that HP.

Contemplating a run in a mini marathon in a little over 2 months. Any suggestions on a good training regimen?

I'm 5'6 139 lbs and am 27 years old with a slender slightly muscular body. I haven't ran or jogged in over a year but began jogging a mile each day a few days ago. The date of the mini is Oct 20 and while I'm doubtful that I'll be ready by then I'm gonna give it a shot. So having said that, would you say 2 months is enough time to adequitely train for a mini? If so then what benchmarks should I shoot for each week in order to determine whether or not I would make it all 13 miles? Any particular foods I should eat that might benefit me in this goal? What ever combination of diet, exercises and benchmarks that I should employ is basically what I'm asking for. Any auggestions would be appreciated?|||A mini marathon would be like at least 21 km long or 15km. Either way, 2 months may not be enuff unless you are a seasoned runner. But still that does not mean you don;t try. Anything done with willpower will be sucessful.

The thing to do now is to make a training plan. You need to start running which is what you are already doing. You said a mile. For starters i guess that would be ok. But every week you need to increase it. Donlt run every day. That will wear your knees out. Alternate between running and strength trainng for the legs.

The best exercises to traint the legs are squats, lunges, leg extensions, calf raises. Do about 3 exercises of about 3 to 4 sets of 8 to 12 reps. The stronger your legs the longer you will be able to carry yourself during the run.

As for diet. You are not running the marathon so forget about the stuff about carb loading. Stick with lots of vegetables and fruits and protein for your meal. Eat a balanced meal with snack in between. Eat right after each exercise session as taht will aid in recovery. Protein will be useful in this regard.

As for benchmarks. I canlt tell you exactly. I want you to make some for yourself. You know how much time you have before the mini marathon. Each week increase your miles and challenge yourself to go the extra distance. But do give yourself a break once a week.....you don't wanna fall sick. Running 3 to 4 times a week with 1 to 2 strength training sessions is more than enuff. Take a day or 2 off and relax.

Lastly, one imprtant thing. The week before race day, try not to do any physical activities. Stretching and light jogging is fine. You want your legs and body fully rested for the big day. Trust me you will see a difference if you do. Good luck!!

How many mini cupcakes will a box of Jiffy make? And how long do I cook them for?

I know that a box of Jiffy corn or apple-cinnamon muffins, for example, will make about 6 regular muffins. But how many mini muffins will it make? I'd start checking them after 5 or 6 min - at the same temp

How to choose the right thread size for my mini sewing machine?

I bought the little mini multi-purpose sewing machine. The purple Pixie by Singer from Wal-Mart. It came with tiny size thread and when I bought some from Target, it was too thick so I am not sure what size or whatever to get. I read that you can buy certain kinds depending on the material you are sewing but I don't think that applies to this machine.|||http://singerco.com/company/contact_us.h鈥?/a> is where I'd start... I found the manual on their website, but it says nothing of thread size.

Personally, I doubt this will be a very long-lived machine, so I'm not sure I'd go out of my way trying to locate lightweight thread for it. You can occasionally find what's often called "lingerie thread" that may be the correct weight for the machine. Usually available only in light colors. You might also consider "bobbin thread" for an embroidery machine -- usually only available in black and white.

Thread size: http://www.ctsusa.com/showpages.aspx?pid鈥?/a>

http://www.fashion-incubator.com/archive鈥?/a>

Thread size and needle size have to match to work well. Needle size in both numbering systems for needles goes up as the numbers increase. Thread size, however, is a little odd. If you see numbers like NE50/2 (or just 50/2), this is the old English thread size or metric thread size -- the higher the first number, the thinner the thread. If you see numbers preceded by TEX or T the higher the number, the thicker the thread.|||You need to go to a store that sells fabric. Take the needle out of the sewing machine so that they can see the size of the hole in the needle. Buy the best thread you can as the cheap thread frays easily and will cause you problems when you are sewing. Good luck

i made six mini bunt cakes, can i leave them uncovered all night, just sitting there, and still be good, is it also okay to decorate them tonight, or should i wait?|||They will be fine tomorrow. You should cover them with plastic wrap or foil so they don't dry out. If you have a large plastic container with a lid that would work also. If they are still warm and you have to go to bed , cover them loosely with foil-you don't want the surface to dry out. It will be better if you decorate them the next day.Make sure they are completely cooled before you cover them-if not, they may get a little soggy. Hope this helps and enjoy the cake.|||You should cover your mini bunt cakes so they will maintain their moisture. If you do they will actually taste better tomorrow. My little mini daschund is sick at her stomach, but is still lively and active. What should I do?

My best buddy and lil mini daschund is sick at her stomach. She is lively and acts fine except for that. Should I just let her lie down for a while, and at what point should I need to call a veternarian? Any answers will be deeply appreciated. Thanks and God Bless!|||Im not a vet but have had and do have dachs. ARE shots up to date, this is important in first year. They are notorious for eating too much or things they should not. First check she is not dyhydrated. Do this by pulling up loose skin back area. If it is slow to spring back down she is dyhydrated. and check gums for white pale color, this means ememic or infection. So that needs vet attention. Check bowls for worms. You can give her teaspoon of pepto bismal for tummy pain. My best guess is she ate too fast and is having a tummy ache to pass it out. Make sure she drinks and control food till she has bowel. If bloody get to vet soon. You might get her to calm down with gental tummy rub. Mother dogs lick pups to help digestion. Check nothing is stuck in throat also. Roseabelle (my mini)and I wish you well *mamatx|||I'm not sure if your dachshund is a puppy or an adult dog so not sure if she's up to date on all her shots. If she's fully vaccinated and isn't suffering from diarrhea and seems to be lively and acting normally, I think you should try to withhold her food for 12 - 18 hours to give her digestive system a chance to settle down.

After that time, try feeding her some plain, boiled white rice with a little chicken broth, and if she does okay with that you can go on to reintroduce her regular food. It's important to make sure that she always has lots of fresh water available though.

If after this she still is vomiting I would contact your veterinarian right away.

If she's not up to date on her shots, is a puppy, or seems to be unwell in any other way, then I would recommend taking her to a veterinarian immediately as she could be starting to show symptoms of one of the contagious dog illnesses puppies are prone to.

You can find out more about symptoms, diagnosis and treatment of the most common dog illnesses on this page http://www.the-puppy-dog-place.com/dog-i鈥?/a>

Best of luck with her, hope she's feeling better soon.|||If she is active, more than likely she chugged her food too quickly. Ours also like to lick up hair or fuzz from the carpet, which of course makes them vomit. You'd think they'd catch on eventually. *sigh*

Now, if you mean she has diarrhea, I'd keep an eye on her. Sometimes they just have things not agree with their stomaches, like people.

If she continues to be sick through the night, I'd get in touch with a vet.|||I think you could just call your vet, and only take her in if the vet says to. My Russian Terrier was like this two months ago, and it was no reason to worry. All he did was eat my boyfriends ring and it upset his stomach. After three days when he pooped it out, he was fine (not to be gross).

How long has she been sick?

Is there anything she could have eaten?

Have you recently changed her diet?

If she has been sick for 4 or more days call the vet and explain what is wrong.

If she ate something, becareful, it could be harmful.

It can be dangerous to change a animals diet, it is best to stick to one food.|||if she puked she may have aten grass outside that will make that happen. As long as she is still drinking water and acting fine just give it some time. like over night. If she becomes lethargic and wont take water then take her to the vet. Is she old?? My dog stopped eating and drinking and actually didnt eat or drink anything for 5 days even with vet meds and he only weighs seven pounds to begin with. it was awful he almost died, it was terrible. Point being if shes older and has bad teeth it can cause a blood infection. Just an idea. Good luck hope he feels better soon. Try mild foods too the thing that finally got my dog eating again was plain old white rice. You can also give the dog pedialyte if its not drinking water, a dropper usually helps.|||If she acts lively...let her be a while. But watch her closely. If she continues to act normally, the upset stomach will probably pass. Watch her food and water intake and output and note any changes. If symptoms start to get worse or the sickness last longet than a day or two, you might want to go to the vet. How do mini dv tapes work and how do you use them?

I've been thinking about how mini dv tapes work and how exactly you do stuff like editing and getting the film transferred onto a computer or how you get them on dvd. I have never had one before and I thought about getting a camcorder that uses them. But the main thing I want to know is about getting them onto a computer lol! |||The "DV" in miniDV = Digital Video. This is as digital as the video stored onto hard drives, flash memory or DVD storage media. Digital information can be compressed to use less space. DV format video (normally stored to miniDV tape) is the least compressed. This means the least amount of video data is discarded in order to take up less space.

Consumer hard drive and flash memory camcorders use a different storage filing system and compress more than DV. DVD based camcorders compress the most and you should not waste you money on them. Video compression = discarded data = reduced video quality.

To see what video compression can do, go to vimeo.com. Compare the HD video with non-HD video. You can do the same thing at YouTube - but you need to compare video quality on those videos which have a "view in high quality" format at the lower right of the video window.

For DV format, MiniDV tape video importing requires a firewire port on the computer. If the computer does not have one, adding one is easy if the computer has an available expansion slot. Connect the DV port of the camcorder to the firewire port of the computer with a firewire cable. Connect with firewire cable, camcorder in "Play" mode, capture/import (using your video editor)... Firewire, IEEE1394a, DV and i.LINK are all the same thing...|||"The first technical advantage is that Mini DV tapes allow for recording on high-density cassette tapes, which brings higher quality sound and video that鈥檚 much sharper to experience..."

What foods are the best to pack for a mini road trip?

My husband and I are planning a mini weekend road trip in a couple of weeks and didn't want to have to eat out any where. We are not camping and will be staying a hotel that we can find but wanted to pack our own food to save on costs. What foods do you recommend for snacks, meals and such? %26gt; Dried fruit

%26gt; Bread-sticks

%26gt; Fresh bread with fillings that don't need refrigeration i.e corned beef, tuna, sardines

%26gt; Pasta will keep for a few days, just remember to coat it in oil so that it doesn't just stick together. You can cook it before you leave and add tuna, onion or whatever when you need it

%26gt; Crisps

%26gt; Rice is ok for keeping too and you can mix in sweetcorn and things like after

%26gt; Curry keeps well, chickpea curry very good for keeping and nice cold!

%26gt; Cereal bars are great too

The mini sd card ones that fit into the normal size adapter slot seem to be cheaper on ebay. What type of panties do you wear with a blue denim mini skirt?

All I wear is mostly all black clothing, and recently I bought a blue denim mini skirt for change. I don't wear any thongs because they're not very comfy. But what shape and color of undies is best to wear besides black boy shorts or thongs with a blue denim mini skirt?|||well go for black - or blues only - and please don't wear it with out - its a fashion mistake|||Panties give a girl a chance to wear something fun, cute and/or sexy. I say don't be dull when it comes to panties. I love pinks and purples, even orange, because i think panties should be bright. Just keep your legs crossed and stay modest, so no one gets a free show. I think bikinis are the best cut. Also, floral panties can be quite cute an girly. If you're not into flowers, then stripes or even panties with skulls can do. Remember, have fun with your undies! How much should I feed my Betta using mini pellets?

I am feeding TetraBetta "mini pellets" so I am assuming I should be feeding more that the guidelines for "pellets". I don't want to overfeed but I feel like he is always hungry. Also, any idea how many feedings per day?|||You are right... He will always act hungry.

Feed him once in the morning and once at Dusk. Hokari makes the BEST Betta Pellets. Stay away from flake food because it dirties the water too easily. 4 to 6 pellets each time is fine and 10 pellets at full Adulthood. (About 6 months.) They live about 2 to 2 1/2 years, max.

You and your Betta will be happier if you buy a tank with glass dividers to hold 3 or more Bettas. This will allow them to interact without actually "Fighting". They actually will get more vivid color and good exercise from making fighting poses at their neighbors.

It is good to change 25% of the water in an unfiltered Betta tank every 3 days. It is even better if you put an In-Tank filter in the water so that water changes are smaller and less often.

Also, contrary to what most folks think, Bettas are Carnivores! They will not eat the roots of Plants in those stupid Vases with plants stuck in them and a Betta trapped in the water. They need water surface area as gulping air is part of their regular habits. They also do that to make "Bubble Nests", which Males will do even without the prescence of a Female.

Good Luck with Your Betta(s).|||I also have beta fish. According to Wardley Essentials Beta Food, fish should be fed several times daily. So, I reccomend 4-6 pellets per fish twice a day. I don't know, but I do it once a day and my beta fish are ok.|||I have a Betta and feed it TOPFIN Betta Bits which are pellets about the size of a pin head I guess(maybe just a little bigger).

Betta's stomachs are very small.

So I feed 3 little pellets in the morning and 3 at night.

Every so often I change it up and give him Tetra BETTAMIN flakes instead to give a variety of food.

Then as a treat once a week i give him a couple Tetra BloodWorms.|||Fish are opportunistic eaters.

If there is food, they will eat it.

They will eat themselves to death, given the chance.

Overfeeding is the main killer of fish, either by causing digestive problems, or by fouling the water.

Fish are also cold-blooded. They do not have fast metabolisms and do not need to eat as much as the packing on your food container says. It would take about 2 months for your fish to starve to death. In the wild, a fish rarely gets to eat even once a day. Weigh that against recommendations to feed at least twice daily and the only rational conclusion is that the company wants you to buy their fish food more often than you need to.

How much for a feeding at a time can be based on the size of your fish. His stomach is about as big as his eye. I would recommend one feeding every other day, or 3 days a week.|||i feed my bett with 4 pellets in the morning n same in the night|||Your Betta will always seem hungry, because in the wild, they will eat all they can, as they will not know when their next meal will be. You, on the other hand, know that your Betta will receive a meal each day! A Betta's stomach is roughly the size of his eyeball, and bloating him is detrimental to his health. I would suggest 2-3 pellets per day. Soak them in water a few minutes before so that they puff up before he eats them (as if they puff up in his stomach it can hurt the fellow) and clean up whatever he hasn't eaten after 20-30 minutes.

Where can I find the best price and coverage for a Mini Cooper extended warranty?

I just purchased a 2004 Mini, and it is covered until May 08'. I don't want to risk not having a warranty to cover a big problem, if one so occurs. I've called local Mini dealers and they are all around $2,000 - $3,000 for 4 to 5 years of coverage and 100,000 miles. Has anyone been able to find a better deal? Please help me out!|||Just because it is sold by a dealership doesnt mean anything. Alot of the time they sell the same coverage sold by the companies on the phone. We sell through Credit Unions, Dealerships, Directs (phone), and Personal Auto agents. So dont think just because its from the dealer its any better. As far as the price that is about right. The Mini Coopers are rated a bit high, not as high as Mercedes or BMWs but they aer still a European car.. The Asian cars are usually the lowest with American cars in between.|||Sadly the dealer will be the only one who can honor any warranties. Those so called independant ones are never any good when you need them. I constantly get offers in the mail about cars I've sold long ago saying my warranty has expired and I need to buy theirs. But when it comes time to use them at a dealer, they say they are no good cuz they are not part of the network. I really don't think you'll have any major problem out of your mini. It is a reliable car %26amp; a good preventive maint program will help you spot problems before they tear up. Sometimes spending a grand a few years down the road for a repair is still a better bargain than the $3K you dish out on an extended warranty. The Dodge dealer in 2001 insisted I buy one on my Cummins diesel. Well, I knew better %26amp; never did buy one. It was a great truck all the way to the 100K miles when I sold it. All I can suggest is that you really learn your car, buy a Chilton's manual, change your own oil %26amp; filters, rotate your own tires, Buy a torque wrench to tighten the lug nuts to the exact specs to prevent disc warp, %26amp; make a few hundred dollars investments in the correct tools for that car. That is the best warranty bargain out there. I bought an 07 Impala 1 year ago %26amp; it has never seen any mechanic but me. G'luck!

How much does it cost to geld a mini colt?

I have a Mini colt, he is 8 months, I might be selling him tomorrow and the person who might get him asked how much it costs. I don't know because I have never needed to do this and the vets office is closed so I can't call.|||Generally about $100 give or take 50.

In order to keep the mini small, it is recommended to wait until they are at least 2 before gelding. When you geld them, they don't bulk up as much, but they do grow taller (sometimes as much as 3 inches!) than when left entire for longer. It does mean they need some extra training to keep them from being mouthy, and they need to be separated from mares, but that's all doable.|||Go to www.dreamhorse.com and price the minis out, on that site. How much does it cost to run a mini fridge?

I just would like to know what an average cost is per month to keep a mini refrigerator running.|||Depends on a variety of factors, such as the insulation, or how often the door is opened, etc. The motor (compressor) is what uses the power, and that only runs on occasion. For example, when mine is running, it consumes about 125 watts. But it's not running continuously. It's off more than it's on.

So, let's say it was running all the time.

125 watts, or uses an 鈪?of a kWh each hour.

In 24 hours, that's 3 kWh.

In 30 days, that's 90 kWh.

My electric bill costs me an average of 11垄 per kWh.

So, running 24 hours a day, my mini fridge would cost me about $10 a month.

But it's not running continuously. If it were on half of the time, and off half of the time, it would cost me $5 per month. More likely, with my usage, it's on 录 of the time, and off 戮 of the time, so it costs me more like $2.50 per month.

Your use and cost will vary slightly around that.|||The web site below lists the average cost of running many appliances. You mini fridge is probably around a 1.7 cubic foot size. The cost for running this size of fridge is about $4.59 a month.

How long does a mini type airsoft battery last copared to large type?

I need to know how long a mini type battery last because im thinking about getting a JG G36C and it has mini type. How long does a large type battery last?|||It usually depends on what kind of power the motor needs as well as the mAh of the battery, so there's really not a set definition of how long a mini battery will last compared to a large battery.

Now, the battery that comes with the JG G36C is probably an 8.4v 1100mAh NiMH mini-type battery, and in my JG M733 which uses the same battery, and possibly the same motor, the battery lasts longer than one would expect possible for what they say about mini type batteries. I can use it for a whole day of playing without it dying. I know the battery lasts longer than that, but how many days of playing I could get out of it I don't know because I always recharge the battery before the next game. You should be fine, and if you start to have problems, just get yourself a spare battery (Intellect would be best) and you'll be good to go.|||Two minis should suffice for a full day's play, or one large.

Don't let the battery size put you off a gun,. you can always get a spare battery, or mount a bigger one externally...

If you want a G36 with a large battery, you can get an enlarged foregrip which takes a large, or a sliding solid stock which accommodates an large inside it....

How can I keep from laughing when doing mini skits at school?

In school, we occasionally need to get in front of the room to do mini skits. We try to make them humorous.

However, whenever I am up there, when the class laughs, I laugh, and then I have trouble saying the lines clearly. And the skits are in front of us so I don't forget. I just laugh.

How can I stop this? I want to be able to speak clearly. And I don't have too much stage fright, I just laugh.

And good methods to stop this habit?|||Your choices are limited; laughing is hard to cease when your already in a laughing mood. However, the most logical thing is to tell your castmate prior to the performance. Then, they can somehow help you, or work with your laughter, when on the actual stage/ front of classroom. You can also work WITH the laughter on stage... I'm not sure. Or, you can simply focus really hard on staying in character. Remember: It's not your character that's laughing; it's you.|||I loved acting class--all 4 years of it. I love it when the audience laugh, it means they like the play.

Whenever i do a play, I just tune the audience out. I try to ignore whatever happenes---like if someone slammed the door or the lights accidently came on. I imagine like they are not there and really don't pay attention to them. But the plays I've done are always rehersed for weeks and we usually don't laugh because we've heard the jokes and acts so many times.

I remember laughing a couple times though when things when wrong...|||I used to have this problem a lot. My solution, which worked quite well, was I'd just imagine all the girls who were watching and how much more impressed they'd be with me if I did the skit right.

Of course, this only works if you're as hopeless with the ladies as I am.|||Im not sure about acting, but when I don't want to laugh i think back to a painful experience or imagine all my relatives and friends dying.

Looking to get a mini schnauzer in a couple months and would like to know how old the pup should be to get the dogs ears cropped.|||i dont know if its the same with all breeds ,but dobermans ears are always done between 9 and 15 weeks old. the person who said they are done at only a few days old is thinking about tails not ears. and the person who said the breeder does it should know that the breeder cant do it. it is illigal for anyone who is not a veterinary surgeon to do this procedure. it is very involved and not to be taken lightly. the breeder could have it done before you buy it but most dont because not everone that buys them wants the ears done. if the breeder is worth a ****, he will help you with the after care of the ears. they must be posted up after the surgery so they heal properly. this isnt very hard to do but can be intimidating to a first timer. also, to all the people who get pissy over ear cropping, F%@K OFF!!!|||They should be cropped around 3 months of age. You will have to keep a close eye on the ears after they are cropped and healing because there is a lot of blood flow to the ears (which means they bleed a lot if they are broken open) and you need to make sure they do not break open from shaking their head or anything like that.|||If you insist on doing it (if you're going to show him, though I don't know why THEY demand it; it's cruel) then you should do it the day you get him or sooner. That way they won't remember who caused them such pain so well. It'd be far worse then getting your ears pierced, and dogs don't get any anaesthesia or even ice.|||Vets here in Canada will only do it at two to three days of age. So if you are looking at one older than that, you are SOOL. They are really getting away from doing unnecessary procedures like this, as well as tail docking. Even some of the parent breed clubs are changing the rules so that dogs can be shown naturally.|||Is cropping the pups ears really worth it? I had a friend loose her puppy because he didn't respond well in surgery. It was really hard for the family to deal with espically for her daughters who were young and didn't understand why their puppy wasn't coming home. Honestly it is not worth it.

I hope you puppy does not have to deal with any complications.|||They usually crop them before the sell them. Unless you going to show this dog, don't do it. Its not right and painful. Schnauzer sometimes have allergies and most tapes they use they can be allergic to and you'll have messed up ears. DON'T DO IT!! Unless you are showing the dog. Which I doubt you are.|||Unless its a show dog, Don't crop the poor dogs ears. Its very painful for them and unnecessary. But you breeder should of already done it, they usually do it and let it heal before selling the puppy.|||Most vets will do them at 10-12 weeks old if they do them at all. Make sure that the vet who does them has a good track record and uses appropriate pain medication.|||Usually the breeder would crop them when they are VERY young. It is a very painful procedure and should not be done any older than when the breeder does it.
