Can i use a mini SD card and adapter in my canon A540 digital camera?

I need to make an emergency purchase for a memory card for my camera. I just found out that its working again and i want to take it with me on my trip at the end of this week but i am pressed for cash. The mini sd card ones that fit into the normal size adapter slot seem to be cheaper on ebay. The mini alone will not fit my camera but the size of the adapter will, how do i know if this will work for my camera?|||If your camera takes an SD card yes, it should work. Unless you already own an adaptor it's going to actually cost you more to buy both than just a single SD.
