What is the most energy efficient mini fridge on the market?

I've been searching the internet for a while now and all that Ive come up with is that I need an "energy star" rated mini fridge, but is there one or a few in particular that use very minimal energy?|||EnergyStar is now international, so you have some nicer tools available these days. You can go to energystar.gov and hunt through their mess, and somewhere, you will find an excel spread sheet with all the power ratings for compact refrigerators. I just went to look for it, but couldn't find it, but it is in there somewhere.

The exact same data is available on the Canadian government web site. They have a nice lookup program that is exactly what you need. Both energystar and non energystar compact fridges are listed.

For the most part, the fridges sold in Canada are the same models sold in the USA, although they sometimes change a digit in the model number.

I created an appliance calculator on my web site that you can try out. It will calculate the present value of switching to a more efficient appliance, and also has a basic appliance lookup (which is how I know that the data at energystar.gov and nrcan.gc.ca are the same.

Also take a look at http://www.nlcpr.com/ApplianceData.html

I have personally tested many appliances, including a Danby mini fridge, and have added them to a table with comments and a picture.

Keep in mind that mini fridges are pathetic. A Danby model used 17kWh per month whereas a huge KitchenAid side by side with through door water/ice used 45kWh. The KitchenAid is vastly more functional than a mini fridge. It would be nice if a fridge that is one third the size would draw only one third the power, but that is not the case.

The only way to justify a mini fridge is if that is all the storage you need (perhaps a dorm room).
