How can I wire a 12v Car Mini Fan to a normal household Extension cord to run in the house?

I have a Car Mini Clip on Fan that is the perfect size for something in the house. I need to wire it to a normal extension cord or ac/dc adaptor. How can I do this? Can I just straight wire it without any problems?|||Vince is correct if you live outside North America. If you do live in North America, you'll need it to be 120V - 12V.

Then the next guy is correct. Go to walmart or Radio Shack and buy one.|||Hullo

buy a 240-12v ( or what ever your mains power is) converter then wire it to mains.|||you need a power converter from supply ac to 12v dc buy it at wal mart for about twenty bucks or just get an ac voltage fan for same amount|||Do not wire it direct! If you do, you will fry your fan, and trip your circuit breaker as well. If you don't know this you shouldn't be wiring anything! You should leave it to someone that knows what electricity is, and how the different types work!

You need a 12 volt transformer. I would imagine that your fan has a cigarette lighter plug on it, so get a transformer that has that outlet on it. You can get them at Radio Shack and plug it into your extension cord, and plug your fan into it..
