What is the difference between a mini dvd video camera and a dvd video camera?

Everything you know please say....im clueless on this one...I am getting a video camera for my fiance cause we just had a new arrival to the family :-). Which one is easiest just to get on a dvd to put it in the dvd player and watch. Do you have to transfer stuff from mini dvd to an actual dvd once its recorded?|||http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MiniDVD
